Faith. Hope. Love.

Spring brings hope. Hope in new beginnings, hope in new life, hope in what God has for the year to come. I love how Easter and spring are infinitely, eternally linked together... because it is really only by faith in what God has done, through Christ, that we can have hope at all. Only because of the fact that He rose from the dead, unlike any man or 'god' that has ever been, giving us hope for the future life to come and hope for the present life... that we are not living in vain. This greatest act of love was demonstrated by Christ towards us, "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends" [John 15.12-14] and because, "we know what love is: {namely, Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.}... we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters." [1 John 3.16]

What a beautiful picutre God has given us in spring... a visual reminder that none can deny of new life, of resurrection, of hope. My loving husband brought home this basket of daffodils & lilacs for women's day (love). At the time they were only buds... honestly they weren't very pretty at all... but within a day, hope had sprung to life as they peered out the window towards the sunlight. Now in full bloom they fill our living room with an aroma of beauty... and remind me that faith, hope and love still remain.

It is my hope that as we live to please our creator that both our and your work may be produced by faith, that your labor will be prompted by love, and that your endurance will be inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. [1 Thessalonians 1.3 modified]
