The Beginning and End to a Great Story

Well i'm back in the swing of studying and at times i feel like "ahhh, i just need to get this done" and other times i feel, "wow what a privilege to have this time to study God's word"... so today i read the gospel of John. I need to write a character sketch of Jesus in this gospel for one of my classes. It's a good read. It gives a different flavour when you actually read the whole book through (instead of in fragmented verses, or chapters, like i usually do)... you seem to catch more of the author's themes, tendencies, peculiarities...

So anyways, after reading John through, i thought to myself... if there were like an Academy Award given to the author that has the best beginning and end in the gospels, i think John would get it. Read them for yourself...

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it...
...Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.

They mystery of the life of Christ! I love it.
... the light that they darkness did not understand...
... all the libraries in the world would not be big enough to contain all of the things that would be written about him...
