Little League Soccer

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Last night i sat on the sidelines of one of the most exciting outreaches i've ever seen. This summer my sister and her husband are helping coach a soccer team of 4-5 year olds. It's part of a summer soccer league that their church is running for the community. You see the church is in downtown Hamilton, where many families are underprivileged and can't afford for their kids to play summer soccer. So the church created a league where the cost is only $30 to play for the whole summer. People in the church coach and run the league and there are over 100 kids involved!!

And the best thing is all of their parents and siblings come to watch the game. Every week after the game the kids hear about Jesus and how he loves everybody. Then they get freezies! They eagerly await that treat every week. Of course the 4-5 year olds spend a lot of their time sitting on the grass or climbing on the goal or running anywhere but on the field. But what an awesome way to love people with the love of Christ. This church is reaching their community by their service to kids. They support my ministry in Poland, but i am so proud of them, because they are living out the Great Commission in Jerusalem.

I love little league soccer! My little sibs used to play all the time, and it was so much fun to get caught up in that funny scene-kids being kids...not really paying attention...some being ball hogs...many running into each other...oh, wait? We're supposed to kick into WHAT? What's a goal?
Classic.
Miss ya!
